Veterinary question
One member suggested incorporating more veterinary-related content, such as videos showing symptoms, answers, and solutions to common issues. While this is a great idea, it’s important to note that there are strict rules governing what vets can publish publicly.
After consulting with a vet, I learned that:
-
Vets must avoid publishing advice that could be seen as advertising or soliciting services from those who already have a vet.
-
Sharing specific veterinary advice on an open forum can create conflicts if members bypass their own vet for advice found online.
-
For liability and accuracy, it's always better for a vet to make a positive diagnosis by directly examining an animal.
To respect these guidelines, we encourage members to maintain direct communication with their own vet for specific issues.
However, if your vet diagnoses or addresses a concern, you can ask them if they would be comfortable allowing you to record a video of the treatment process. With their permission, you can share the video on our members' group, where it can serve as a learning resource for others.
This approach ensures accurate and responsible sharing of information while respecting veterinary practices.
